The Dockside Restaurant has officially opened its doors east of Hillsboro, celebrating the milestone with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Highland County Chamber of Commerce. Owners Dale Martin, Tip Long, and Tom Bailey welcomed family, friends, and local residents during the July 2 event at their location on Lucas Lane.
Set inside Rocky Fork State Park, the restaurant features floor‑to‑ceiling windows and a balcony overlooking the lake, offering diners a scenic backdrop for both dine‑in and carryout meals. Weekly specials and upcoming events will be shared on their social media.
Martin said the concept came from bringing back a successful idea from years past, noting the strong community support that helped make the opening possible. He expressed gratitude for the encouragement from residents across Highland County and Marshall Township and said the team looks forward to creating a welcoming gathering place for years ahead.
