LUCASVILLE, Ohio — A Lucasville woman was killed early Thursday morning in a two vehicle crash on State Route 104 in Morgan Township. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the crash happened at 3:40 a.m. near milepost 15.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 2019 Jeep Cherokee was traveling northbound on State Route 104 while a 2008 Chevy Impala was heading southbound. Troopers say the Jeep traveled left of center and struck the Impala head on.

The driver of the Impala, Ruth D. Spencer, age 51 of Lucasville, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, Abreanna Steele, age 28 of Waverly, suffered serious injuries and was transported by EMS for treatment.

The Patrol says impairment is not suspected as a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation, and additional updates will be released as they become available.
