GREENFIELD, Ohio — A man was arrested Sunday evening just outside the village of Greenfield after a neighborhood dispute escalated into a public confrontation along State Route 138 in Ross County.
Deputies from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a possible fight around 9 p.m. near the 1000 block of SR-138. According to official documentation obtained through a public records request, no physical altercation occurred, but one individual was found heavily intoxicated and allegedly provoking a neighbor to fight in the middle of the road.
Witnesses told deputies the man had entered a neighboring property multiple times and loudly banged on the front door before standing in the street and calling for a confrontation. The individual admitted to consuming approximately 12 beers and expressed frustration over ongoing issues with neighbors, though he was unable to specify the nature of those grievances.
Deputies arrested the man for disorderly conduct due to intoxication and transported him to the Ross County Jail, where he was issued a summons to appear in court. No injuries were reported, and the scene was cleared shortly after.
While the incident did not result in violence, law enforcement emphasized the importance of resolving disputes peacefully and respecting property boundaries — especially when alcohol is involved.
