The Fairfield Local School District’s new Health and Innovation Center has come a long way since the groundbreaking ceremony just six months ago. Construction is moving quickly, and the vision behind the project is starting to take shape in a big way.
One of the most exciting parts is the partnership with Highland Health Providers to bring Leesburg Family Medicine right into our school. This means students, staff, and even community members will have access to medical care without ever leaving campus. It is a huge step forward for making healthcare more accessible and convenient for everyone in the district. From routine checkups to more specialized care, having a clinic on site will make a real difference in how families get the support they need.
This project is not just about healthcare. It is also about connection, career readiness, and community impact. The Health and Innovation Center will include updated classrooms and learning spaces focused on health sciences, technology, and career exploration. Students will have hands-on opportunities to learn about medical fields, business, and other real world careers. The center will also support a Career Readiness and Internship Program, giving students a chance to gain experience and build confidence before graduation.
The design of the clinic is flexible so it can grow with the needs of the community. The planning process included input from local families and organizations, and the goal has always been to build something that truly serves Leesburg. Partners like Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the Appalachian Children Coalition have also played a role in shaping the vision.
This project is about more than just new walls and equipment. It is about creating a space where learning, wellness, and innovation come together. It is a place where students can grow, where families can feel supported, and where the school can continue to be a central part of the community.
From healthcare access to career focused education, this new center is a major investment in the future of Fairfield students and families. It is already showing what is possible when schools and local organizations work together.
