The Brown County Drug Task Force has arrested a man investigators describe as a major drug trafficker following a months‑long investigation that led to the seizure of significant quantities of illegal narcotics, firearms, and cash.

According to the Task Force, Paxton Wayne Crouse was taken into custody on June 12 and charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, a first‑degree felony under Ohio law. He was transported to the Brown County Adult Detention Center, where he remains held on a $250,000 bond pending court proceedings.

Investigators executed a search warrant as part of the operation, recovering a large amount of suspected cocaine, multiple firearms, and a substantial amount of U.S. currency believed to be tied to drug‑trafficking activity.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office credited the success of the case to strong cooperation among agencies. The Mount Orab Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) assisted throughout the investigation.

Officials said the arrest reflects ongoing efforts by local, state, and federal partners to disrupt drug trafficking networks operating in southern Ohio.

The case remains under investigation.
