Ms. Kim Pittser, exiting superintendent - Miami Trace Local Schools

Kim Pittser, Miami Trace Local Schools superintendent of six years and a dedicated member of the district for 26 years, is now retiring at the end of the 2026 school year. Miami Trace hosted a large surprise celebration in the high school gymnasium, where the entire district gathered to wish her a warm and emotional farewell.

Thank yous, happy retirements, and songs filled the gym as teachers congratulated her and said their goodbyes. One especially touching moment came when a former student she once coached returned to share her gratitude for Pittser’s support and encouragement throughout her time at Miami Trace. The district office added to the celebration by unveiling a new sign on the academic wall, officially naming it as her own wall of fame, honoring her long‑standing impact on the school community.

Pittser’s influence extended far beyond her administrative role. She made a meaningful difference in the lives of students, staff, families, and countless individuals she met throughout her journey. Her leadership shaped Miami Trace in ways that will continue to be felt for years to come.

As the district prepares for the 26–27 school year, Miami Trace is also looking ahead to its next chapter. Assistant Superintendent Justin Lanman, a 2000 Miami Trace graduate, has been approved to become the district’s next superintendent effective August 1, 2026. He will continue serving in his current role until the transition, and he is set to become the first Miami Trace alum to lead the district.

Slowly, as the community moves toward a new school year, Miami Trace hopes all is well with Pittser in her retirement and that her lasting impact on the district will never be forgotten.
